July Foodie Pen Pals

I seriously love Foodie Pen Pals- every month I am excited to go shopping and excited to open my package once it arrives. Every month I have gotten some awesome new foods to try- foods that I may typically have never purchased on my own, but ended up loving.

This month my package was from Olivia who blogs at Live to Eat. Olivia has been GF for over 2 years so I was excited to be paired with her. I knew that she would be sending me some awesome goodies. This is what I got in my package:

Gluten Free Sea Salt Lentil Crackers
I absolutely loved these crackers. Especially dipping them in hummus! They reminded me of pita chips more than a cracker. Olivia mentioned that the first time she tried them she thought "YUCK", but then they became one of her favorites. I never thought "YUCK", I thought that they were really good! I tried to locate them in Spokane at a local health food store and was unsuccessful. I haven’t had a chance to see if you can purchase them on Amazon.

Coconut Water
I love coconut water- especially after a hard workout. It is refreshing and this brand was no exception. Olivia said that she thought this was the best brand, and I think that she is spot on. It was VERY good!

Spiced Blueberry Jam
This is what is great about Foodie Penpals because on my own I never would have bought this product on my own and I LOVED IT!!!! This was a really yummy treat for breakfast. I put it on some Udi's toast, in my oatmeal, and even on my rice cakes. Olivia said that it is a local product from Ternion Springs Farm and that the blueberry jam was just made. What an awesome treat!

Justin’s PB cups
I love these (actually sent one to my foodie penpal this month too!). Peanut butter cups = my weakness.

Ginger Chew Candy
I thought, ginger candy? Very interesting! I was skeptical, but loved it! I liked it so much that when I noticed that they sold it at Trader Joe’s that I bought some more. J

Walnut & Date Kind Bar
I love Kind bars, but honestly if I were shopping for myself I would never have bought this flavor. Normally I go for the coconut or peanut butter flavored bars. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I really did like this bar. It was an interesting, but great combo-not too sweet, but not bland. I would buy it again without hesitation. This is another great reason why I love Foodie Penpals so much (for the millionth time)- I get to try food that I might ordinarily turn my nose up too, but that I end up loving.

Curious about Foodie Penpals???? Here are the details:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We've determined things might get too slow and backed up if we're trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.
Wanna sign up?????
If you’re interested in participating for August, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.
You must submit your information by August 4th as pairings will be emailed on August 5th!

*If you're from somewhere besides the US, Canada or Europe and want to participate, send me an email and I'll see if we get enough interest this month!
