San Francisco: Part 3 (Guest Post by Mr. Healthy Diva!!!!)

Lagunitas Brewery:
Written by Mr. Healthy Diva

Well here goes to my first ever blog. Well from Napa Valley we traveled along green lush roadways and open fields. Nothing like not having enough battery life on the cell phone to find our next destination. Fortunately we had a map from the rental car company of the area. It was a map that only showed the main roads. I knew that our next stop would be at a brewery that I was longing to go to. I knew that the only thing that we had was this map with the city on the map, from there it's good old stop and ask where the brewery was.

Lagunitas is located in Petaluma, CA

My battery on my cell phone is to important to look up a map on GPS and FOR SURE I knew I was taking a huge risk asking Healthy Diva to use her Cell phone once we got to the town. She's always blogging, tweeting and facebooking, her battery is worth its weight in gold and that was not an option. Well I stopped and asked a worker at a ice cream joint and he looked confused, he had to ask the manager. Well that this point I was thinking well my wife is in the car and there is no way I can go back to the car and say nobody knows where it is. For all you ladies, you know that is suicide for your man and I knew that. I crossed my fingers and the manager came out and said well, it up the road two miles.

At this point I knew I was close and that if she was wrong I had someone to blame for not finding it. I drove north for about two miles and finally discovered the Lagunitas Brewery. I knew I was in the right place when a worker in orange construction gear was guiding traffic. I knew I was at the holy grail. I circled and parked next to an industrial looking building. The lot was packed but I still couldn't see the brewery but I knew I was close I followed the people and it led to a massive spring break party.

MMMM...IPA

Beers on tap

It was crazy, I thought MTV was here! But I knew I didn't care to get home cause I was going to try some beer. It was completely packed. I started at the gift store. I knew I needed some shades. MTV has to be here. Well I scored at 5$. Next stop through all the people and the outside bbq beach area into the over packed bar. I spotted a small spot where the Mrs. could stand. Luckily we got two seats after two people left. Tried some beers that haven't yet been released to the public. Some of the best beer that I have had. Did I not say it's all about the label. I was first sold on their beer when for a gift I received a four pack of random beer companies pint glasses. One stood out for four years. It was Lagunitas Well in that time it turned out that they were growing and became as large as they did. I first feel in love not with their beer but their amazing label.  Didn't we grow up learning what is cool is good, from our first pair of Nikes to our first designer watch. It was one of the best breweries that I have ever been to. Everyone in the place shared the same feeling. I still wouldn't be surprised MTV was there.

The place was packed!

Well it was time to leave, yes I realized one of us had to drive. I gave up my man card and let Healthy Diva drive back to San Francisco. On the way back we made the day trip to Napa perfect. We ended on a perfect note = back to San Fran for night life. I highly recommend it going to the brewery if your close. What label sold you on an truly amazing product in your life?

  1. Mr. Healthy Diva!!!!! That was a fantastic first post! I could feel your excitement for the brewery label and beer. I will certainly be sharing this info with the hubs. You both have inspired me to plan a weekend trip down to San Fran!

As far as labels go..I'm not sure. Probably Garmin or Yurbuds.

I hope you have more posts soon!

Let me know if you do plan a trip so I can give you some advice. SF is beautiful. Just don't run downtown unless you want your shins screaming at you. :-)
