Friday Favorites- Giveaways!

I hope that everyone has recovered from the excitement of Christmas and that your waistlines didn’t expand as much as mine did. I have been suffering from the Christmas “hangover” the last couple of days. Too much fun and way too many yummy goodies! I like to think that I can celebrate hard once a year and that usually falls during the last week. I cannot say no to all of the baked goodies! My mom even sent us home with molasses AND gingerbread cookies this year. Yum. I was good and stuck to my training plan so it wasn’t like I was just lying around and stuffing my face. I was burning at least some of the calories….

Over the last couple of weeks I have won a couple of giveaways. I love winning stuff, although it doesn’t happen as often as I would like J

Premier Protein: I was excited to receive this goody package in the mail. It came with 4 protein drinks and 6 protein bars. I have only had the chance to drink 1 chocolate protein drink and eat 1 chocolate peanut butter bar. Both were good, but I want to try some more flavors and then write an official review. You can check out their website HERE.

Sweat Pink swag bag: I won this from the #FrostyFitnessChallenge I participated in a couple of weeks ago. I dominated the squats and was rewarded with an awesome swag bag from FitApproach. I received a yoga mat carrier, a sweat pink t-shirt, new pink shoe laces & a gym tote bag. Thank you to Michelle at Push.Pump.Progress for being one of the fabulous hostesses of this challenge.

RooSport: My good blogger friend Laura hosted this giveaway on her blog last week and I was excited that I had won. She recently ran the Seattle Marathon and visited Roo Sport at the expo. She said that is was her best expo find to date and that she used her Roo Sport on race day. I haven't had the opportunity to use mine yet, but I hope to try it out on my 12 mile run this weekend. It looks big enough to hold several gels & my house key. I don't need to carry my license because I have a go sport ID band, but it could also hold yours if you needed it. I am thinking on long runs it might be nice to be able to hold a couple of dollars in it for emergencies. I have been on a long run before where I wished I had some $$$ to buy a snack or water at a gas station. You can read Laura's Roo Sport review HERE. As soon as I can use my Roo Sport I will write a review too. On a random side note, I am really excited to meet Laura IRL in May when we both run the Windermere Marathon! :-)

Questions for you:

What is your favorite giveaway you have seen?
Have you ever won a giveaway or a challenge? What did you win???

  2. Congrats on the goods! It's so fun to win and try out something new. I won "The Feed Zone" cookbook this summer from a giveaway and we've made some great tasting meals from it. Would never have picked up the book on my own so I am thankful for winning it!

    1. Isn't always fun to win something that you might not purchase for yourself? What type of cookbook is the Feed Zone? I am always looking for new recipes to try.

    1. What kind of a necklace did you win Tara? I like the necklaces with quotes & charms on them. One of my favorite necklaces that I had made on etsy has two charms. One says Boston 2010 and the other says 26.2.

  5. That's awesome that you won some goodies! Love that! I recently won a case of Lara Bars for Janetha's Dedicated December challenge over at Meals and Moves. I ended up giving them to my sister though since they ended up being pretty high carb (and I eat low-carb). My sis is pregnant though, so it'd be a good, healthy snack for her. :)

    1. I love Lara Bars Karey. They are so yummy, but they are a bit higher in carbs. They would make a great snack for someone who is pregnant. I usually stock up on bars when I am training for a marathon. I haven't had a Lara Bar in months, but now one sounds really good!

  6. I have never won a giveaway, but a few years ago when I wrote a dating blog, I received a homemade purse from a reader. It was super cute and every time I use it I think of how far I've come since my first blog!

    1. That is a cool gift to receive from a reader. I like gifts that you can reuse for years to come and that hold a special meaning or mark a milestone.

    1. You poor thing Jen! I don't have the PMS thing, but I am cranky because I feel so gross right now. Of course I probably wouldn't feel so gross if I stopped stuffing cookies in my mouth! :-)

    1. I liked the protein shake better too, but I only have had one of the bars so I am still undecided on how I feel about them. The bar I had was the chocolate peanut butter and I was famished when I ate it.

It sounds like you are lucky with raffles and giveaways. It must run in the family for you!

AWESOME news on the bike! I'm excited for you to do a triathlon. And I might be buying the bike from my friend that I used for my sprint tri this summer, in which case, more tris in my future too...

    1. Thanks Laura! I am really excited about my bike. I am dying to take it outside. First the snow/ice needs to go away and then I also need to buy clip in pedals too. I guess that pedals on a bike are pretty important. :-)

    1. Michelle the sweat pink bag was awesome. The shirt was super comfy too! I wore it to Farmgirlfit that same night. It sounds like you have won some great giveaway items this year. I love sparkly soul headbands and the bobble water bottle looks pretty cool. I have never tried a handful bar before, but I don't think my girls need any extra attention. :-0
