A very belated week in review

I honestly don't know where this week has gone! Work has been crazy, especially since I am ONE week away from vacation. This is better late than review of last week. :-)

Monday: Off

Tuesday: SJ class and spin class after work

Wednesday: Hill repeats on the treadmill. I decided to do them on my treadmill to ease the downhill running on me since my knee was still sore.

WU: 2 miles
10 * 1:00 minute hill repeats with 1:00 min recovery. Total hill mileage: 2.59 miles
CD: 1.41 miles

Thursday: An easy 3 miles before SJ class. After work I ran another easy 2 miles

Friday: An easy 10 miler

Saturday: Off

Sunday: 7 mile run and then a 5 mile tempo for the Hangover Handicap run in CDA, Idaho. 23rd OA out of 575 participants, 3rd place female. Time: 34 minutes, 6:47/mile pace. You can catch my review of the Hangover Handicap HERE.

Total Weekly Mileage: 32

I bought several running books with a B & N giftcard that I got for Christmas. After some reading and pondering I have decided that I am going to stick to the "Run Less, Run Faster" concept. FLAB got me through CIM utilizing this plan and I think that it really worked for me. I am intrigued by how much mileage I can run during the week, but I also don't want to over train or get injured. I will always have a semi bad left knee so I tend to be more cautious when it comes to my mileage.

Questions for you:

Has anyone else had success with the "Run Less, Run Faster" training plan?

  1. Hi Tasha,

I trained with RLRF last year for over the summer and I have to say that, I liked it in the beginning but after a while I just felt like I wasn't enjoying my runs anymore. There were days where I had it in me and others where I just couldn't think of running that fast. It's a great book and they have some good info. but plans aren't for everyone I guess. Always try it out though.

    Have a great day!

  2. Thanks for your advice Donna. I think that RLRF will be a good starting point for me, but I might go off some other plans as well.

I love your comments & inspiration
