52 in 52

Ever since I was in grade school, I have loved photography. I wouldn't say that I am great at it, but it is something that I enjoy. I won several 4-H photo champion and grand champion awards at our county and Oregon State Fair.  In college I was fortunate enough to be able to take some classes for fun. It amazes how much photography has changed over the last 15 years. I remember using disposable cameras! Ha!

For the next year I am partaking in a Facebook group called 52 in 52. Each Sunday a new weekly theme is introduced.  I am looking forward to exploring my creativity over the next 52 weeks. Of course I will share my photos with all of you. :)

Week #1
Theme: New

Questions for you:

Does anyone else enjoy photography?
What are your hobbies?

  1. I used to be a photojournalist. Back in the days, I was in charged of the A&E section of a small circulation newspaper in Portland (OR) called The Hispanic News. I had a dark room and spent all my weekends going to events and developing pictures. I am now a hardware engineer but my passion for photography is still there.

I love taking pictures of food, especially salads and juices. The ones posted on my blog ( http://conquering26-2.blogspot.com/2012/01/madrid-marathon-training-week-1-jan-2nd.html) were taken really quick with my iPhone. Otherwise, I can spend hours prepping and working on taking the right shot :-)

Other hobbies, Bikram Yoga. I looooove it!

  3. That is really cool! One of the photography classes I took in college was in the dark room. I loved it! Even after college I paid the fee so that I could use the equipment. Lately, everything I have done is digital. I am hoping to take some cool shots at the Olympic Trials this weekend and on our trip to New Orleans next week. Photography is so much fun!
