Marathon Training: Week 11

This is it...6 days to go.

Monday: Off

Tuesday: SJ class

Wednesday: 4 miles with 2 X1600 at 6:17 pace. Got off from work early and had my workout done by 3:30. My pace was right on target so it was a good day!

Thursday: Thanksgiving Day! I went o SJ class at 7:00 where we had our fire fit obstacle course otherwise known as the "save the babies" workout. It was grueling! We wear sweats for the whole hour, after 5 minutes you are just drenched. Definitely earned that piece of pumpkin pie!

My hubby met me at the club and then we went to our first ever Turkey Trot. It was a lot of fun- didn't really do much "trotting" and I don't even think we did the whole course. It was freezing cold outside and there was a lot of people. I was anticipating a couple hundred participants, but I am sure that there was well over 1000. My hubby showed up in Air Jordan's because he "gave" his running shoes away so we walked all but the first 1/2 mile. I felt out of my element, but it was fun to just relax and hang out with the hubby.

Avg Pace

Proof that we were not trottin' very fast :-)

Friday: I had a nice easy little run. It was relaxing as a run can be. I kept telling myself to "SLOW DOWN" which is a good feeling. I kept the pace right at about 8:00/miles.

Saturday: Off

Sunday: 5 mile tempo with 3 miles at 6:40. Felt easy and relaxed. I could have kept going at that pace. My 5K PR from 2009 at Partners in Pain was 21:48 and my 3 mile tempo was faster than my PR. Now I can't wait to run Partners in Pain this year to see if I break 20 minutes of maybe even 19 minutes. I doubt I could break 19 minutes, but a girl can dream...right?

WU: 1.01 miles in 7:30

Avg Pace

CD: 1.00 miles in 7:15

My 3 positive thoughts:

1. I am thankful that I was able to give it my absolute best these last 11 weeks
2. I am excited that my parents are going to CIM with me!!!!
3. I am thankful for FLAB and all of her guidance that she has given me not only the last 11 weeks, but the last 11 months. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Total weekly mileage: 15.13 miles

Tia Bean wanted to help mommy with her blog tonight :-)
