I figured to hold myself accountable I should check in on how I am doing with my 2013 goals every other month or so. Let’s see how I am doing now that we are two months into the new year.
Run 2000 miles. I am going to take another crack at this goal. I know that I am capable of it, I just need to stay healthy and in one piece.I came to the very sad realization in the first week of January that this will probably not happen. Am I bummed? Yes. Is it the end of the world? No.
January miles ran 108
February miles ran 128
Bike 1000 miles. This seems like a lot of miles, however, I think I can do it. I don’t really know what I am capable of so I am just going to go for it! If not at least I tried! Mr. Healthy Diva bought me a wireless bike computer that I can use on my spin bike so I will include those miles in my tally. Spinning counts, right? It might be another couple of months before I can take my new bike outside so spinning will have to suffice.
It seemed like it took forever, but after over a month of waiting patiently I was finally able to take my bike out of a ride.
2013 miles biked:
January 0 miles
February 19.98 miles
Spinning workouts completed:
January 3 hours 7 minutes
February 2 hours 15 minutes
Train for at least 1 triathlon. This I am very excited about! I still haven’t selected one, but luckily there is a lot that take place in Spokane. I might even do one in Seattle with my college bestie Adrienne! I think she just wants to do a triathlon with me so that she can kick my bum in the swim.
I haven’t even figured out what triathlon I am going to do yet. Both races that I contemplated are either sold out or don’t work well with my schedule. I think that after Windermere I will become more serious about finding a race. Farmgirlfit is supposed to be starting a triathlon club so I plan on joining that if it will work with my schedule.
Compete in a crossfit competition or two or three. I know that marathon training will have to come first and I will only be able to go to Farmgirlfit two times a week, but I love the aspect of it. I already have registered for a competition that will take place on January 13th.
Done & done! I crossed this goal off as quickly as I could so that I didn’t chicken out! Not sure if I will do another, but I least I know I can do one.
Get my marathon PR that I have been dreaming about all year. I don't even care if it is by 1 second. I want that PR.
This is a work in progress…..Will report back on this in a couple of months.
Continue my progress on the elusive six pack. I think that I am getting closer, but it has been hard work! I want to continue adding 15-20 minutes of core work into my routine at least 5 days a week.
I have actually been doing pretty good. Still no six pack, but I religiously do core work 4-5 days a week. Most sessions are between 15-25 minutes. I love incorporating randomabs.com into my daily core sessions. I am slowly making progress towards this goal, I just wish that it would come easier!
Have a professional revamp of Healthy Diva and sign up for self hosting. I have already started to collect estimates on this fun project. I can’t wait to see a new look for Healthy Diva!
Okay, I started this project and was super excited about it. Until I realized how much freaking money it was going to cost. This project is on the back burner for now (part of the reason has to do with the whole paying off my debt goal).
I did purchase my domain name: www.healthydivaontherun.com so hopefully my blog will eventually get the TLC that she deserves.
Once a month have a date night that doesn't include just a quick dinner at Qdoba.
I would say that this goal is a success. In the last two months we have gone snowshoeing and saw “Zero Dark Thirty”. We have had a nice dinner at the White House Grill in Post Falls and also a TGIF dinner at the McKenzie River Pizza Company a couple of weeks ago. I am sure that Mr. Healthy Diva wouldn’t consider this a date, but he did accompany me to the TriCities ½ Marathon last weekend. I think that should count as a date, right?
Could we do more dates together? Yes.
Read at least a book a month.
I have to say that I am knocking this goal out of the ball park. I have always loved reading and having a Kindle definitely makes it easy to read all of the books on my reading wish list. My life is getting crazier with extracurricular commitments and with marathon training getting real I don’t foresee a whole lot of reading happening in the coming months.

Really make a dent in paying of our debt. I would like to have my credit card paid off by this summer. With that I would also like to save more $$$ so that we can finally move into our dream home.
I am making some really good progress on my credit card. I know that there are people that have huge credit card debts so I really shouldn’t whine about mine too much. At the beginning of January my trusty VISA had $2,833.28 on it. This included a year’s worth of purchases, Christmas gifts, weekend trips to Portland and even my treadmill.
So far Mr. Healthy Diva and I are doing pretty good on our spending & our saving. In two months my I have paid off over $1000 on my credit card. Freaking awesome!
I realize that we have a trip to San Francisco coming up, but I hope to not rack up too much on my VISA….
In reality I am not so sure about moving since we love, love, love our neighborhood…….
How are you doing on your goals for 2013?????
--Tasha
Yay girl, did you ever know that you're my heeeerooooooo!! You should totally post a #goalgetter2013 photo on instagram! (see my post today ;) xo
ReplyDeleteI might try later. I feel behind since I was on the road for most of yesterday.
DeleteWow, those are some amazing goals girl!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachelle!
DeleteSounds like you have a great progress going on!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tanya!
DeleteNice work putting a dent in your goals, that's a great idea to check in periodically like this!
ReplyDeleteThanks Katherine! I figured the only way to really gauge my progress was to do a check in once every two months or so.
DeleteDang! You're doing awesome on your goals! Keep it up!!!!
ReplyDeleteJen@HealthyFoodandFamily
Thanks Jen! I think doing check ins like this will help keep me on track. :-)
DeleteSo fun to read the recap of your goals. Those are great goals and to answer your question about the bike and spinning---if you are counting your treadmill miles you should be counting your spinning miles don't you think???
ReplyDeleteWay to go!!!! You are freakin awesome
Thanks Marnee! I would love to count my spinning miles, but I have no way to track them. Sad!
DeleteIt sounds like you're going really well Tasha! I am jealous of your reading too - I would love to get more reading time in but am tracking at about half your books per month at the moment ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kari! My reading will be going down a lot now. I just had to take advantage of it while I could.
DeleteGirl you are a machine! I am so happy for you and how far you have come! Can I tell you... You were my inspiration to break an 8 minute mile. You are my running hero.
ReplyDeleteDid you like Gone Girl? I have been wanting to read that book for a while now.
Have a great day!
Thanks Brandi, you are so sweet! I was really proud of you when I saw that mile time. It was awesome! Keep it up, you are doing fantastic!
DeleteI really liked Gone Girl, but it took me almost half of the book to really get into it. Once I got into it, I could not put the book down!
What did you think of Perks?! That's one of my favorite books ever! And YAY for the whole triathlon phase! I can't wait for you to choose one and get training :)
ReplyDeleteHonestly....I didn't really like it. :(
DeleteI really need to just pick a triathlon to get on my schedule, but I cannot make up my mind. Lol
Awesome progress! I'd love to know more about your ab routine--I'd just settle for flat, not a six pack!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate! I have a draft post for my core work, I just haven't had a chance to finish it and post it. Hopefully I can work on it this weekend if I have time.
DeleteI think you're doing really well so far. It's always great to assess a couple of months in and get a good feel for where you are. Love the diversity of your fitness goals, too. Keeps you healthy and happy!
ReplyDeleteI thought that it was good to have diverse goals this year. Even though I love fitness, my entire life can't revolve around it.
DeleteDang girl! You have some awesome goals! You seem to be on track with them. I am not much of a long term goal person. Hmm...that's probably not a good thing ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle! I like goals, I kind of get obsessive about them. :-)
DeleteWow, I'm impressed! You have some ambitious goals in here. So far, I'm doing relatively well on my own 2013 goals, but I know I can do better, so I'm going to start working even harder this month.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! I think I have always been ambitious which sometimes is a good thing and sometimes a bad thing. :-)
DeleteYou have so many goals! I'm doing great on my goals...since there was really only one. I just want to complete a sprint tri. I set the bar low! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is still an awesome goal to have Becky!
