Week 3: Running inside in the rain?

Thank you to everyone for your AWESOME words of encouragement on my first crossfit competition.  I successfully survived the WOD Warrior this morning. I knew it was going to be hard, but it was SUPER hard! It was a great experience and I am glad that I did it. Working on a recap now to post later in the week!

This week was pretty uneventful training wise. No fun vacation days in the middle of the week. L

Monday: Off or Recovery day. I opted to do an easy 30 minutes on my spin bike followed by 20 minutes of core work + stretching. It snowed over 10 inches so I was glad that I could just stay home after work.

Tuesday: 25 minutes of easy spinning + 20 minutes of core and then Farmgirlfit. The workout at FGF consisted of AMRAPs (As Many Rounds As Possible). These workouts always confuse me because I have to keep track of my rounds and when you are working at top speed everything blurs together.

Wednesday: I came home to standing water on my TM. There is a leak (several to be exact) in the roof over the sunroom where all of our exercise equipment is.  I had a mini panic attack, but then got towels to start cleaning up the mess. Thankfully my precious TM was okay. I completed my 6 mile run while having water dripping on me the entire time. The combination of the 10 inches of fresh snow the day before + the rain and warming temperatures made for a mess and an interesting workout! As soon as Mr. Healthy Diva got home from work he moved my TM to a drier location.

6 miles @ my easy pace of 8:30 (7.0 on the TM) w/10 pick ups. I just speed up when I felt like it, I had no set plan. Finished 6 miles a bit faster than the previous week- 48:43

I wasn’t feeling very good during this workout so when I got done I decided to not do any core work. I feel like I have been fighting off something ever since Saturday. Really I hope I don’t get sick!

Thursday: Farmgirlfit. I went to the 4:30 class right after work and I actually enjoyed it, but it was more crowded then I am used too. Workout consisted of 10 rounds: 10 wall balls, 10 hand release push ups, 5 ring row dips. Following 10 rounds, 400 meter run and then deadlifts for weight (6-5-5-3-3-2). I had a new deadlift PR of 150!

Friday: Off or recovery day. I decided to take this entire day off because on Sunday I had my first crossfit competition.

Saturday: 13.1 miles with 8 miles easy pace (8:30) and 5 miles at current MP  (7:38). I was pretty nervous for this workout. It has been months since I have ran anything with goal MP in the equation. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this felt. I could have run further at MP. Right now I am only shooting for a 3:20 at Windermere so this workout has me right on track.

Sunday: WOD Warrior! I survived—more on this to come J

Miles run: 25.1

Questions for you:
How was your week????
Did you get to run Houston or Disney over the weekend?

  1. Oh man! Not good for the little treadmill..glad it's not damaged! Hope the rest of the place is ok! My parents had water damage one winter and had to live in the dining room for months before the whole place was fixed

    1. I am so glad that my TM is okay. If it wasn't the husband would be hearing about it forever since he didn't want to get our roof fixed over the summer. Men!

  4. Nice work on your 13+ ! That's a nice zippy 5 miles in there :)

I had a crazy workout week and ended up with a few unplanned rest days. I really have no schedule right now, though. Perhaps I should fix that...

    1. Thanks Kari. So far the TM is okay. We moved it to a different location where the roof shouldn't be leaking. So annoying because now I don't have my two windows to look out and I can't spy on the neighbors. Ha :-)

  9. I love the farm girl fit name. It's just sounds like a clever way to name an intense, but woman friendly gym.

    1. The name still cracks me up. It seems fitting for me though since I did grow up on a farm. Intense it is! The workouts always seem easy in writing and then they totally break me.

    1. Marnee you are so sweet. Your comment just made me smile which I really needed. Having a bad case of the "Mondays" today. I am almost done with the recap and should be posting it either tomorrow or Wednesday. I feel even more sore just from typing it out and re-reading it! Hahaha. Actually, I do feel much better this afternoon. Not as stiff anymore. I guess it is a good thing my body is feeling better since I have to knock out an easy 6 miles when I get home. :-)
