I was so excited about finishing another long run on Sunday
that I didn’t talk much about my weekend.
It was actually pretty laid back. We were originally going to have a St.
Patty’s day party at our house, but had to cancel it at the last minute.
Friday night my hubby and I went to Qdoba for dinner and
then enjoyed a drink with some friends.
On our way home we stopped by our neighborhood hangout, the Lantern
Tavern before heading home to watch Dateline NBC. I know, we are pretty
exciting.
It was nice to sleep in on Saturday and snuggle with my two
favorite little munchkins; Tia & Maisy. We lounged around for most of the
day. The most productive thing I accomplished was laundry and finishing “The
Help” on my Kindle.
They just went to the groomers and are feeling extra photogenic
Around 5 pm my hubby decided he wanted to go down to the
Lantern and have one St. Patty’s day drink. I thought that it would be good for
us to get out of the house. We each enjoyed a “snake bite” which consisted of
cider with Guinness floating on top. I am a wine girl, but the drink wasn’t too
bad.
After hanging out at the Lantern we went to Safeway to pick
up a few items and grab some dinner. My hubby went to go and find the girls a
big dog bone and instead found this wonderful treat for them…..This might be their official new favorite treat!
I thought I needed a treat myself, so I bought this. I am
hoping that it will bring us some warmer weather. I am ready for summer and my flip flops!
Sunday didn’t start out as planned, but turned into a great
day. You can read about my second 22 mile training run here.
My hubby had his first football game of the spring season. It was COLD! I was bundled up with two
blankets a fleece my coat and gloves, yet I was never warm. I was very thankful
that I ran my 22 miles in the morning because it really wouldn’t have gone well
if I had to run it after sitting in the cold for 90 minutes. His team lost, but
they played a great game. They moved up a league so they will be facing more
competition this season. Usually they would cream every team that they played,
which isn’t fun after a while. Having some competition will make them a better
team. My hubby made some great plays- so proud of him!
When I got home the first thing I did was head for the hot tub to hang out. It was the perfect ending to my weekend!
Questions for you:
Have you ever had a “snack bite” before?
Does anyone else spoil their “fur” babies as much
as me?
Is everyone ready for summer?????

I've never heard of a snake bite, interesting! I don't drink very often but when I do, it's pretty much sissy drinks. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteNo dogs here :(. Maybe one day.
I just ran a heat-infested race in Iowa in 86 degrees. I'm okay to hold off summer for awhile since I bypassed spring. Let the 70 degree days reign!!! :)
I'm soo ready for summer!!! Bring on the heat!!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried a snake bite although they have an appetizer at Texas Roadhouse called Rattlesnake Bites and they are tasty!! I had them for the first time on Sunday night.
Our spoiled cat gets Greenies and he loves them but what he doesn't know is that they are good for him!
I've never had a snake bite but, now that you have enlightened me on what it is, I would love to try one. Sounds like you had the perfect weekend in my book!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day girl!
Wow--you brought back memories of snake bites from college! But ours were different--some kind of shot of whiskey (can't remember what kind?) in a glass of beer.
ReplyDeleteA hot tub at the end of the day sounds about perfect!
Never tried one of these before. Yes, sooo ready for summer! Great workout the other day girl. You're on fire.
