It has helped with my hip and my back but I have to make sure and DO IT or I can start to slip back into being VERY tight. I had a weird issue with my legs being out of balance due to my motorcycle accidents which was almost 8 years ago now but I landed on my right leg and bruised the bone which made me gimpy for awhile and that side gets tighter so if I don't stretch my stride starts to go wacky. Like you, I don't love it. However, I know I need to add that and some strength exercises in. I realized yesterday that I'm quite the minimalist - I stink at stretching and strength exercises.
